Audi Q7 4M buying guide
2015 to now. A 4M Q7 suits a family that wants a refined seven seat SUV and will check every recall has been done.
Small jobs
- Rear axle nut recalls. Rear axle nuts below spec could break on 2019 to 2021 cars, and the nut replacement could misalign the rear axle, causing tyre wear and a possible sudden flat.
- Steering shaft bolt recall. The bolt between the steering shaft and rack may not have been tightened on cars built January 2015 to February 2019.
- Gearbox oil pipe recall. A gearbox oil pipe may be poorly fitted on cars built September to December 2019, risking an oil leak.
- Fuel delivery unit recall. The fuel delivery unit could break on 2018 to 2021 cars, causing a sudden loss of power and an emissions light.
- Seat and airbag recalls. Recalls covered third row seats that could deform on early seven seat cars, curtain airbags, a crash sensor connector and front seat frames on 2023 cars.
- Diesel emissions software. The 3.0 diesel V6 sold from 2015 carried emissions software classed as a defeat device.
Questions for the seller
- Is it the 3.0 TDI, the 45 or 50 TDI, the SQ7 or the plug in hybrid?
- Have all recalls been done, including the rear axle and steering recalls?
- Does it have seven seats and air suspension?
- Is any factory warranty left?
